  • unfortunately we are not allowed to set any, ANY kind of traps in eastern and middle europe, we are not allowed to hunt with bows, slingshots etc. only rifles, and we are allowed to catch just some amount of fish and still u have to know the rules when what u can catch or hunt and u cannot provide a food for your family any way possible or any way you can.fishing and hunting is what my grandfather and what my father did all the time and it is what i know and what i want to do. Its really shame that people think this way, because i dont even want to eat that junk they sell on the markets or maybe i just dont want to spend money for things that i can get myself for free...
  • in nz possum dont do that. and our possum different
  • if this were anybody else's video I might've complained. but I've seen enough of your stuff to know that if anybody is going to treat these animals humanely - it's you
  • watching this I definitely know to wear gloves or some sort of hand protection
  • Thanks for the demonstration Dave. Also I appreciate your talk at the end, explaining your ideology when it comes to trapping and fur-taking. I think a lot of people just write it all off as animal cruelty and whatnot. Glad to see there are good, respectful people out there. Keep the knowledge coming!
  • Hi Dave, very interesting, we have critters on the ranch like that and I always wonder how to catch them, and if I'd be brave enough to eat one. I guess its a matter of hunger and mindset. Thanks for your time and talent PrepperDino
  • Watch that cheese head grin, lol. I hated to walk up to one of my dirt hole sets and see a big fat cheese head grinning at me. Good job Dave.
  • I'm not Dave, but, it's essentially so he doesn't have people complaining about seeing him kill something.
  • I like your explanation on self-reliance Dave. Great video want to see you eat your catch of the day.
  • I just skinn em and fry em usually like bacon
  • Rabbit taste better. Opposums are great for the environment because the get rid of all of the nasty dead criiters left in the woods. They are scavengers.
  • Have shown that in several video on processing small game as well as early in the traspping series brother-
  • The city possums are just as aggressive as the raccoons are. I think that one was just warn out from all the struggle.
  • wow, i figured the possum would be alot more vicious lol , great video though! thanks dave!
  • great video dave,i used to kill alot of these ugly looking creatures down in texas for sport, theres alot of them and one time one actually charged at me,his buddies must have told them about that guy with the pellet gun killing his cousins or something
  • Good vid
  • I wonder how many times Dave's got his fingers nipped by one lol. Fearless!
  • Your channel is very good .. I enjoy watching it .. Thank you for your work you are doing ... greetings from Ukraine ...
  • Am I take it that the method presented here only works on 'possum, y'know, because of their "play dead" reaction?
  • Possums? I call the one in the middle, "Bitey".
  • gre?at vid, can you do a vid on cooking the possum
  • Damn. Can't type today
  • The possum was perfect specimen for this haha.
  • great video Dave! Thanks again...
  • 1080, a pesticide using sodium fluoroaceta. At least that is what Wiki has it listed as.
  • He looks terrified
  • Canterbury is also the largest Province in NZ right?
  • I am lucky, my dad gave me my first bb gun at the age 5, i went out and killed a a bunch of birds and lizards, brought them back and showed my dad, he made me eat them, then taught me a valuable lesson. We don't kill animals for sport, we kill them for food. If you kill it you EAT it. That summer I ate some of the strangest animals ever, lizards, frogs, snakes, black birds, my dad killed a BIG raccoon, but I ate that too.
  • Great instructional video Great video Dave. I trapped every season as a young man, coons, mink, possum, muskrat and fox. Coon hunted with our dogs as well. Provided the only source of income for us young people growing up. Your right respect the animal and utilize all the meat.
  • Great video! It's a shame you even have to say what you did about how you treated the animal. People are too used to buying meat in styrofoam, wrapped in plastic. I think everyone who eats meat should be responsible for getting all their meat in the wild for a month to see where it comes from and know how to butcher it.
  • i don´t think there that fragile especially compared to us except for stress and anyone could hurt himself wihle struggling in a trap
  • Been a Hunter and Trapper since I was just a kid, But I must tell you Sir. Watching your channel has become almost a daily hobby of mine.
  • Boy what room and bored Derick and Jim have lol Great video as always Dave
  • Well done Dave, I think you handled that just fine. I am not even going to waste my time wondering why you have 26 negative comments. However I do have to say, I think those yankee possoms you have up there seem a little tamer than the ones we have down in the south :)
  • Very informative. Dad never taught me that you could handle opossum that easily, and I always wondered how he did it. Thanks.
  • Dave thank you for another great video. It is a horrible world where you have to use 1/2 of your video explaining to others how you are not being cruel. People like you are not cruel. You care for the wild. The people who pollute and trash our wilderness are 10x more cruel than any hunter. The people who liter never see the animals choking on the plastic and spend hours strangling themselves on trash. I teach my kids leave it cleaner than when we came. Keep the wilderness wild!
  • Dang the ones down here will fight to the end. Good vid
  • not concerned if he bites hu?
  • Why does the law require you to dispatch the animal?
  • great video once again sir !!! keep em coming.
  • Send me a mail topathfindersurvival gmail and we will make it happen this month brother
  • I would like to point out to any one who might think that he was being cruel, an animals first reaction to being hurt is to sound an alarm yelp/howl/growl, and proceed to attempt an attack and escape, it did not appear that the possum was showing any of these signs of pain.
  • Dave.. I enjoy your videos..Your Dual Survival show was good, but this is more "real"........Thanks!
  • very cute than he pretended to be dead, but probably they are pests in your area, like rats, and you dont have any precious feeling for it ; d
  • Great video Dave. Here's a question - is there anything you can do at the forge to revive the snare from being twisted up?
  • Dave, Did you have that sweater made or did you make it yourself? And where oh where can I get my hands on one? That thing is awesome!
  • Absolutley-Every day and twice on Sunday
