  • I dont know if mines about to molt but this shows the perfect stuff THANKS
  • So the rose hair laying on her side is normal for molting? Cuz mine spent all day webbing the corner she's in and now she's laying on her side not moving at all. She looks stiff, so I am kind of worried.
  • My rose hair also just molted. I only got him about a month ago from a friend that didn't want him. He's way more colorful now and hairier. But my question is about lighting. I was told by the person to not shut the heat lamp off at all. I do sometimes cuz I worry but it drops to the low 60s overnight when I do. And I know they're from Chile and like it between 75 and 86 degrees about. What should I do?
  • It seems to be breaking free ok but we still wonder why it didnt go on its back like the rest
  • Ours is molting on its tummy and not upside down! Will it be ok? Is there anything we need to do?
  • @ninjanekogurl If he/she 1 day start druming its a male :3 I dont know if Roseas do it, but Poecilotherias do
  • ummm, is it alright if i use footage from this video? im doing a project and i need footage of tarantuals molting. do u mind?
  • yea i just bought mine the other day and one thing i forgot to ask them was when the last time she ate i have had mine for about 48 hours and she was hungry cause i put about 3 crickets in there and she got all 3 of them really fast but is that good for her
  • What if they put the web over itself too is it molting
  • @prindles1 if u got the money cause they are pretty expensive try a mexican red knee, i want one myself. Many owners agree that they are amazing spiders and they are super docile.
  • They don't have paws they don't like being held particularly and don't put a sponge in the tank because it can harbour bacteria and mites
  • My chilean rose is molting now! I came home from the shop about one and a half hour ago and she was on her back (I was so surprised. It's the first time). I haven't seen any movement yet. She is just lying there on her back, but hopefully something will happen soon :)
  • My spider didn't flip. She is on her stomach, but she is twitching like she is getting ready to molt. It has been a day now, is this normal???
  • ive just got a same spider as your self and its got lifeless i was told it was the temperature ive got it up to 83.8 f it asnt eatan in 2 days my temp was below 75 plz can you help as im worryed
  • thanks and one more thing, is she the type of spider that she'll make a web and then collect it back up again?
  • this is so gross its cool when my hermit crab didint
  • awesome...cant wait til i finally get one
  • is molting dangerous for tarantulas ? if so why do they do it ?
  • I knew my tarantula was going to molt soon because she wasn't eating for the past month + half. In my cage I have a half log home thing for her to burrow in. She's been in there for like 3 days now and she webbed closed both exits, even so much that its difficult to see in there, even with a flashlight. But I can see like one leg facing up so I know shes molted. But I cant see like anything else and Im worried cuz shes been in there so long. and I know the molt can stress them out. what do I do?
  • mine webbed also EmmaKayy14 the entire tank again an amazing thing don't you agree.
  • @edge1andre most likely a female they are bigger, and many more aggressive,my male is very calm even when i bother him.
  • Ja, Sedmoport is correct, they should have let it molt first, as it's a trying time for them. when you see them on their side, or back, don't disturb them, just watch. It can take hours, but is so cool to see. Water dish, hide box and room temp is fine. Good luck, sorry so late with response.
  • Could possibly be in premolt, it took our adult rosie almost 2yrs to molt. Also rosies are known to not eat for periods of time. I'll check your vid out!
  • how many days they will recover?
  • @AMT4245 thanks
  • @njnolan1 it died a day later
  • My Chilian Flame moulted around 3 hours ago and is the right way up again but her legs look floppy, is this normal?
  • how long should i wait after my chilean rose hair molts to feed her?
  • I LOVE HISSING ROACHES!!!
  • hi i am getting a rose and what age is best to feed the spider a cockroach my email is gorman1987@hotmail.com any help would be good many thanks and cool vid by the way
  • we have a chilean rose-hair we got it about 6months ago (we were told that it is a female be we are still not 100% sure) Anyway, at the moment it looks like she is making a web or something. We haven't seen seen her act this way before, she is just kinda standing there and moving her front legs on the right side (right handed? lol). Not sure if she is getting ready to molt or what she is doing. Does anybody have any idea what she may be up to?
  • is it bad to leave crickets in the cage for a while if she doesnt eat them and what if you accidently burry a cricket is that bad
  • @xarlz159 at least 14 to be safe.
  • That is how Tarantulas clean themselves!
  • hey there, i need some advice. is there any hints to telling when it is going to molt. i had mine for about 4 years. it molted only once. and i wonder if it will molt again and if there are any hints to know if its ready
  • How do you now please respond thanks
  • @atainder It is hard for me to visualize your tarantulas condition so i agree, go with your best judgment! it sounds like the carapace is still attached to the new exoskeleton of your tarantula? is that all? either way, Good luck! I hope all goes well. let me kno
  • my grammostola rosea is molting right now :P
  • Why can't it be disturbed during molting? What would happen if you pulled the old skin/exoskeleton off of it quickly? Why does it lie around for an hour afterwards?
  • it was also not moving
  • Our class tarantula was molting and we thought it was dead. We flipped it over to its legs before we knew what was going on. Then we found your video. Should we leave him alone or flip it back onto its back?
  • do they die
  • @graylobo133 No if a tarantula is dead it will not be on its back, she is molting
  • My spider has been on its back for about 3 hours but nothing is happening yet
  • Your tarantula is named after an elevator company
  • So..how do they act when they are about to molt?
  • does your tarantula have to be on its back while its molting? I have a chilean rose hair spiderling, size of a penny and she's not moving at all. I hope she is not dead, and hopefully molting, but she is not on her back.
  • How often do the rose haired tarantulas molt? Also how can i tell if mine is male or female?
