what is their temperment?
@lungfixer these are not good beginner tarantulas- as they can be very defensive, quick, and flick hairs pretty regularly.
@majesticdemon1 it takes about 3-5 years for this genus to mature into an adult spider.
any difference if you get them young?

Is this a good beginner T? I'm looking for the largest sp that is handle-able and will not flick hair.
Just out of curiosity, what is your choice of substrate for terrestrial T's? I went with organic peat (4 -to-1) with vermiculite for my G pulchripes...but now I'm worried about mites.
I use an organic coconut fiber with vermiculite. I've never had a problem
