  • I would not recommend having that heat mat in there like that I would put it on the bottom they get there heat from the soil not the heat in the air.
  • Lol fluffy just starts making silky Web string
  • I would just say this now, if you have a high voltage heat mat please dont put it in the enclosure. The tarantula can possibly burn itself.
  • The substrate is to most that is why it is on the side of the tank
  • if the rose hair is on the side of the glass then its too wet.
  • how do you dry the coco fiber or planting soil blocks after you expand it with water?
  • You don't need heat mats on most gramastola and with the mat on the inside will burn your tarantula
  • What do you think of wallpaper on the outside of the tank. .. i Read it keeps them from stressing but didn't really know weather or not to have it there, it looks kind of bad
  • I think your humidity is very high.
  • I thought that bark chips are absolutely prevented
  • Every thing is ok except for the heat mat
  • I have a female grammostola pulchripes (Chaco Golden Knee) and a male grammostola rosea (Rose hair) they both live in 5 gallons but I don't have a heat mat or a lamp I think those can sometimes kill your tarantula
  • I wouldn't have a heat mat! It can FRY your Rosie!!
  • I think you got a male one
  • I don't spray the substrate I spray the the sides of the tank
  • Everything I've been told by a friend who works for the Smithsonian in their spider exhibit says that Chilean Rose tarantulas do not need or even like misting or moist substrate. Heat pads or lamps are also unneeded. The basic rule, as she says is that if you are comfy, so are they. They DO need the moisture/humidity to be consistent. They can dry out and die but generally get all the moisture they need from the water dish as long as your house isn't excessively dry already.
  • Array
  • The mat on the wall of the tank looks ok, G. roseas dont really need one though, if the room t° is comfortable for a human its also comfortable for them. Humidity isnt also an issue for them, their natural habbitat in Chile looks pretty much like the Palo Duro canyon in Texas, quite dry, although not entirely desert. The landscape tends to gain some humidity through morning mists.
  • Also I would have the water dish on top of the burrow! If it spills it chould drown her!
  • I've had my Mexican red knee tarantula for just a little over 9 years now, so my son asked if I wanted a Rosie Haired Tarantula. His friend is getting rid of his male and felt comfortable that I have had mine for so long. I'll be getting him in a few days. He is debating about giving me his female one. He's not sure yet. I'm hoping he decodes to give her to me as well. I hope you have had fun with yours I'm hoping to do well with my new ones. thank you for your video.
  • You dont put the heat pad on the inside it could borrow and get burned put the heat pad on the outside facing towards the tarantulas hide are under the plastic inclosure them heat mats get really hot i have one.
  • Don't put the water in a bowl cause the spider can drown in it
  • Wet tissue I mean lol
  • I gave mine wet water not a dish
  • You deffo shouldnt have that heat mat there, g. roses ted to be more aggresive when its too hot for them, they simply dont like it but if its really cold in your house stick the mat OUTSIDE of the enclosure :) also do not spray the enclousure, overflow the water dish a tiny bit and that is enough as these hate wet substracte and will start climbing walls to run away from the moisture, im sure you know that by now but thats for others so they dont make mistakes :)
  • Wrong, all wrong. You do not need a heat mat unless you keep your place under 70* or over 90*. If you are comfortable the spider is fine. Do not mist the spider, it just annoys it. It does not like a wet or damp ground. Would you like to sleep in a wet blanket? The only water it needs is in the water dish. No direct sunlight.
  • Buen vídeo hermano, aunque no entendido nada xD
  • @slaxxxer Fluffy's cute! unless your a locust or a cricket then he might be a little mean!
  • I would put a stone in anyway just to stop crickets from drowning. Interesting thing I noticed when I kept a rosey that they will sometimes go months without eating, if that happens don't worry seems to happen quite often with them. Never happened with any other species I kept. Another thing sometimes gets over looked but make sure there's never any crickets in there when she moults.
  • She generally feeds once or twice a week. The enclosure was from thespidershop.co.uk
  • Ohhhh right on man. Thanks for replying.
  • I love your selection of music, Egyptian March surely suits this spider.
  • I have a tarantula just like your "Fluffy". Like you I am learning! I had her in a container much like the one you have, and I recently I bought her a 5.5 gallon tank and during the moving process her toe got caught in those top grate things on the lid and she shed her leg off:( I felt horrible. I guess they grow them back as they molt, but I think mine is almost to full maturity, and unlikely to molt much more. Good luck with yours.
  • How often do you have to clean the tank out?
  • prick
  • @sheeplecorporation was yours a sub aldult or a fully grown adult when you got it?
  • I have a Chilean Rose
  • some might use that, but i would think a heat mat far more suitable. You might risk over heating the tarrantula if you do.
  • thanks :)
  • Are you Australia or Britain? Yeah I'm a stupid American. Usually I can tell but here I just can't.
  • i just got one too :D
  • can I use a heat mat on a faunarium
  • is a heat sourse absolutly necessary?
  • ha ha ha, you cant have watched many videos cause if u had then u would relise that most of the things this guy does in his set up are WRONG...
  • @lollieboy29 Yes my friend. Tarantulas can go ages without food
  • hey mate, wht didnt you stick the heat mate to the outside?
  • Substrate to damp, plus a heating pad plus high tank. You couldn't have done much more wrong. Sorry, but this sounds like you just parrot fashioned a pet shop owners guide to T keeping. Substrate should be dry (water dish will provide more than enough moisture in the enclosure) and normal room temps are fine for arid species. Heat mats are dangerous for your T and it's not getting any temp variation for daily and seasonal shifts. Environmental clues are important for moulting etc.
  • hey , i'm from belgium and i'd like to import a chilean rose t. from an UK shop , can tarantulas survive those kind of long range transports ?
