I would love to have big Ts here in Canada! What you caught is a male, they have tibial hooks on the front two feet. Those hooks are there to hold the female while mating so he dosen't get eaten. Males don't live as long (5 - 6 years) compared to females (15 - 20 years). He was probably looking for a female to mate. Good catch!
Yeah! I was shocked at how fast it was... and a little scared too to know they can move that fast!
