I could've got it out without destroying the soil.. or flooding. Just use a small stick, and pretend you're drawing or writing scribbles about 1-2" from the hole, and they will pop out and chase it.

Wow cool. I thought the closest wild tarantulas to me were all the way in Sacramento. Possibly California ebony tarantulas...
