Descendants of slaves? Why is it that I always hear black communities being described as 'Descendants of slaves,' but never hear white communities being described as, 'Descendants of genocidal maniacs' or 'Descendants of international terrorists' or 'Descendants of warmongers, rapists, pillagers, etc'?
why is it that when there is a video discussing black culture and black people in general, we always have to have this big discussion on genetic origins?

50% of citizens there are Afro Brazilians. But just take a look at media and football crowds there - almost totally white. I didn't see the purpose of the narrator saying descendants of slaves instead of descendants of Africans. Our African ancestors were not always slaves.

I'm noticing that they keep saying "Africa" or "African" to describe all of the black people in Brazil. I'm wondering if slavery also erased the direct ties to individual countries the way it did for blacks in America. I'm wondering bc I'm African American and my family also generalizes to just Africa as a whole too
