What type of engine do you know?
Love the pedals!!!
other pics i see are at 49 and 50 seconds
Hi John, i posted in another video of yours about building my own arachnid. In this video could you tell me what you used to connect the a-arms to the spindle? I know you weld a 5/8 nut to the a frame but can't find what that bold is called. the picture i am looking at is 28 seconds into this video. Also, are the a-arms off set the 1/2 inch that the plans call for? Sorry to bother, i am definitely new at this and appreciate any help i can get.
I would build a welding cart or something that isn't going to matter structurally as much a something carrying human cargo.
You buy plans and build it yourself. You order parts online and assemble everything...... Other than ordering parts and plans, I built everything
Do you know how much this costed you total? What engine did you use? And How fast does it go?
No, you can buy them at spidercarts com though. That is the honest thing to do.
thanks!
awesome build!! great kart!
How long did it take to make?.
Do they give you exactly like measurements type of material, nuts and everything else?
Oh, a few months (5 I think), but we also took extended breaks (1-2 months at a time). We also built it with the kids, and that takes extra time. Main part of the frame - 1 day Front end - 1 day backend and some misc - 1 day. I have no idea why it took us so long, but it did. The above sections were completed fairly quickly.....
I don't have the time. It would probably be cheaper to buy a gokart and modify it.
Great job! Ours does not have the detail but still a lot of fun! Check out ours on Spfun11! Thanks for a few ideas!
Do they send you everything in a box
Can you build me a rolling chassis?
About 2500, Harbor Freight 420 cc engine. I have it geared for about 40 mph, but I can change the sprocket out and make it go 50-60 if I wanted to (my kids are young enough 40 is plenty fast)
would you recomenned as a first welding project? I have no idea how to weld but I'll get my uncle to help
Thank you!
They give metal measurements/angles and part numbers for things, except not nuts and bolts. Those you have to figure out on your own. The plans get a rolling chasis done, but a lot of the finer details need to be figured out on your own.
Would you mind sending me the plans.
you can purchase the plans at spidercarts com
Very nice :)
