I was watching this video while walking around my town looking for scorpions.As you were on your final attempt, I glanced down at my screen and saw the little butt- as you swung down with your net, so did I!LO AND BEHOLD, MY BUG COLLECTION IS DONE!I CAN TIME TRAVEL BACK NOW :DD

I think the tactic I'll try this summer for scorpions will be to lead it into a ring of holes, since it can't get over them, right? (I know tarantulas can get over them, but I only need to get a scorpion.)
I've often very slowly approached these bugs when they're in their defensive position and they haven't attacked. When I say very slowly I mean even slower then the speed he was approaching the scorpion with. Just creeping isn't enough to prevent the tarantula and scorpion from noticing you, you have to creep very slowly.
I had no clue I had to catch a scorpion before September ends! I only have two days left. I do not like my chances!
do you refresh the game by entering the coffe shop? or by saving and continuing?

I've only ever seen one tarantula in game, and no scorpions so far. I saw the tarantula moving around, realised what I was looking at, let it disappear into some trees, and then had a panic attack lasting two hours. I don't recommend my method of "catching" them.
I caught a scorpion at first sight, but still no luck with tarantulas. Do they spawn at the same spot, or each of them have their own place to appear?
Here's my tarantula/scorpion stragety:Step One: Carefully approach the bug. (By that I mean don't let it chase you, but still let it make the hissing sound.)Step two: Start using the sneak function with your net, until you're at a reasonable distance.Final step: Catch that lil' fukkah
An hour sounds like a much faster spawning rate than what's been happening in my game. I hear they tend to spawn better in underdeveloped areas..? By the look of things in this video, I'm assuming that's true. :( Which kinda sucks. Sad face.
So far, I've seen three tarantulas. The first one jumped in the river, the other two vanished into thin air before I even got my net out.
I've caught both Tarantula and Scorpion and it happened both during the Fireworks-Show in August. And two times I got lucky and caught them! During two other fireworks I've seen two tarantulas and they bit me suprisingly because I was stumbled into them.
I have seen 2 Tarantulas and 1 Scorpion. One Tarantula vanished into thin air, the other jumped into the river. I got the Scorpion on the first try, funny world....
Never really tried this before.. might tho!
The first time I found out about scourpions, I walked out of my house, and directly onto it. and then blacked out. I was confused.

New Leaf is my first Animal Crossing game so recently I was looking for ages for a tarantula and I had no luck so I gave up. The next evening I was running to the town hall and guess which little shit ran into me and made me pass out? When I ended up in front of my house Flurry came up to me and then tried to sell me a lemon for 900 bells seconds after I was bitten.
I only have found a scorpion once. I was crossing a bridge with a bug net and was running. I didn't even see it. I didn't have time to react and it made me pass out.

When the scorpion is shaking its tail at you all you have to do is walk slowly up to it and net it.

I caught a scorpion on the first day of AC:NL :3 and then on the second XD have not seen a single tarantula

I am getting irritated trying to find this stupid scorpion. Last night, I looked for 4 hours (No joke, or exaggeration!) and only saw 3. I missed all of them DX
I first found the Tarantula in City Folk & chased after it, got bitten, and passed out. When I found it in New Leaf I caught it in my 2nd week by pure chance and was jumping up and down I was so excited :P I still don't have it in the other games
The first and only time I found a scorpion was in animal crossing wild world… It was chasing after me and I flipped out. After running away for like, 10 minutes I got stuck on something I think and it got me… I was so scared XD this was years ago, but it terrified me.

I saw a scorpion in my game not too long ago for the first time (wanted to start over for reasons XD) er...I saw the scorpion and wanted to follow it now it was in FRONT of me,when I got my net out it was behind me and attacked me,just what the heck?

I know how you feel. I encountered a tarantula once. So I stupidly went off screen to get my net instead of pressing x to get it out. When I came back, it wasn't there.
So... Do scorpions and tarantulas chase you if you pull at your net, or what?
