  • Is the cobalt blue's venom anywhere near as powerful as the Poecilotheria's venom?
  • Jon, I've heard that some potting soil can have pesticides and be harmful to T's, would coco fiber (eco earth) be a good substitute to mix in with the vermiculite?
  • Just for the odd suggestion, maybe a tall cylinder vase as an enclosure with a cut section of screen rubber-banded over the top would work well. Getting a 24" tall x 6" diameter or so vase and putting in at least 12" to 18" of substrate would present some great opportunities to see it in its burrow. I wouldn't think it'd really care for much more floor space so long as it had depth. It'd be pretty heavy compared to plastic totes and such though...
  • where do you find cobalt blue tarantula s in the wild ?
  • Where does TC get their larger specimens? (Not HL but any tarantulas)
  • Hey could someone help me out on this. I've been looking up cobalt blues for a while now and I'm getting kind of confused about this I know that they are really aggressive but I've read sites that say that they are very poisonuos and some that say that their venom isn't really that harmful to humans. So ummm yeah which is it are they harmful or aren't they?
  • care sheet on the earth tiger brother?
  • FYI- When you say the Latin name the "v" is pronounced as a "w". BTW I love your videos keep it up

  • That shelf of Tarantulas... All it takes is an earthquake....
  • @Silweror if you saw the last 30 seconds of the video, the next one IS going to be on the P.murinus.
  • Tarantulaguy1976, Tarantulaaddict, and FrankieKato149.

  • @bassoonmaster1995 yes.
  • @crazymangonewild123 not yet
  • You attempted to use the proper your/'re and yet you still failed...
  • @Jon3800 Just curious, is it a Partner thing to be able to upload a video longer than 15 minutes? I've seen random people just upload one for more than an hour once.
  • Have you sorted it? And did you buy the soil fresh or did you take it from outside? Hope your T is ok.
  • Do males show the blue at all? Mine is a 3-4 inch juvi and has the blue legs when shown in the correct light. Is this a guarantee it's a female or can males show some of the characteristic color as well?
  • Hey Jon awesome vid and beautiful H Lividum… feel free to check out my Cobalt Blue "Sky" Eat in my video…You can see a picture of her in my display…Awesome Vids Buddy…One Love…One Tarantula~
  • my cobalt blue has ran up my paint brush and bounced off my hand not to long ago. nobody got hurt or bit but we were lucky
  • Gotta say....I love the methodical layout of your "Mythbuster" Video. They're very educational, especially for me since I don't own any tarantula and is looking to get into the hobby. I do however have and breed scorpions. My scorpions collection is almost as large as your T's. (Currently have 65 scorpions, 28 different species) LOL!!! ;P
  • For some crazy reason, I'm doubting that story of the Cobalt Bue being $650. It was probably $65. I forgot to mention in my last comment- Just wanted to say thank you for showing the color difference in the males &females. I've never noticed that before.
  • @FrogVloger B.albopilosum are slightly faster than auratum. In a year Kira grew from 3/4'' to around 2.5''.
  • @SaintandSinnerz that is in premolt. Midna sat out in open for a week and she left me a fresh molt
  • where do you get you're tarantula
  • I have one already done. See mythbuster video 33
  • 2) Either you're likely upsetting them and they don't like it or because they're interpreting it as a food response and. If there was a male near the enclosure, there would be drumming amongst both of them, very similar to one's shown in my mating attempt videos. The female would NOT burst out with signs of aggression unless she is still hungry
  • @Thelovelychristinaa Bizarre?I More like gorgeous!
  • I love your mythbuster series. Looking forward to the OBT video. I remember when I went to Iveys pet shop here in Pensacola Fl, I was very upset with their staff. Their "experienced" tarantula employee tried so hard to sell me their Cobalt Blue (even though I told him I was new to the hobby). It's kind of scary looking back because he told me their aggressive behavior isn't that bad & that they''re great for handling. It's nice to be able to learn the facts here vs searching the web.
  • AWESOME, I have been waiting for this one! btw are you doing the idiops species since it's a true spider?
  • @Jon3800 Yea, that was the first time I'd seen one that size in person, and I figured that was a decent price being an expo and all. None of the other vendors had any that day either (at least by the time I had asked). I couldn't believe it was so much, but they were the busiest T sellers there, and I had to wait about 10 mins working through a crowd just to see what they had.
  • Are B.auratum fast growers? im seeing your slings getting bigger every video!
  • nope. Only haplopelma I ever had were vonwirthi, minax and lividum.
  • @whoisgrossbard Males will still have the blue until they mature and they lose it all
  • Hey jon, just got a H.albostriatum, i witness first hand the speed of it............ it was.... out of this world...luckily got it into the container and slammed it shut.. leaving it to dig its own burrow now >:D thanks for the advise
  • oh, and yes. i do know the death curl, i will try to upload a pic of my handling her and make it as a video response :)
  • @ultum4tegunz what you see in the video is how you should house a H.lividum. 4-6'' potting soil/vermiculite mix all around.
  • Ive read on the British Tarantula Society AKA (The BTS) that "a happy tararantula is one that CANT BE SEEN".
  • @deltagamer24 I would have to see the specimen in person.
  • i use coconut fiber
  • Well Done
  • @11808Clover yes
  • Awesome mythbuster video mate :-D I'm hopefully getting a cobalt blue adult female next week can't wait :-) I'm using a heat pad but putting it on the back of the tank would this be ok for her and I'm using eco earth has substraight would this be ok aswell jon.
  • @MegaGhit possibly going to molt. My female did the same thing
