my tarantula is "abnormally" big. she's 6 and 3 months old and she's 8 and a half inches long, is this normal? thanx in advance :D

They do it when they're nervous or when you are getting them use to being handled. So it literally scares the shit out of them sometimes haha. As for your parents make them watch more tarantulaguy1976's videos, seems to change a lot of peoples minds :-) good luck

How often do slings molt? I've had mine a week now and apparently he/she will molt every 2 to 3 weeks until they get older. Is this true. My sling hasn't eaten for w eek so that's telling me a molt is coming soon.

I've been better about spiders in my house, lately, instead finding something to smash it, I've been dropping them into a cup and tossing them outside.
I can't ever hold my red knee! :( i've had her for two months and she kicks up her hairs almost immediately after I start getting close to her. I handle my pink toes which are much more difficult to handle just fine, she just 1. Freaks me out a bit because of the hairs 2. Hasn't eaten in awhile and I think she could e preparing to molt. Any advice ? Thanks !
this spider is actually kinda cool looking. i suffer from mild arachnophobia but i still like some of them. my dad and uncle had tarantulas in college that they made money off of by putting mice in the terrarium and seeing how long the mouse would last. my dad caught his and my uncle;s i think was a mexican rose. your vids are pretty cool.
so i have a rose hair and a colbt and they are about six inches in size and ive only had them for about two months.. when do they start to molt?
I was they same, I wasn't scared of them just a bit cautious. haha I got my first tarantula(A chilean rose hair) a couple weeks ago after watching tarantulaguys videos. I went to my local exotics shop to get a red clawed scorpion and came away with a T after holding one in the shop. I don't regret it in the slightest! :D

I want to thank you so much tarantulaguy1976 as I used to be SO afraid of spiders and after watching a few of your vids I was converted. I have always wanted to love spiders but just never had the guts to go near one unless it was behind glass, but after watching your vids you have shown me how people can have such good connection with their spiders and I feel a lot less scared of them now. Infact I have just ordered myself a mexican red knee sling! So once again, thank you.
hi rob i have had my Mexican red knee sling for a few months now she seems to off gone of her food and hasn't eaten in nearly a month she will get in a defensive pose whenever i try too feed her but wont eat i am feeding her on medium locusts atm as she is to small to handle anything bigger. any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated thanks for your time

Is there a method of getting the spider used to handling? Are they inherently docile?
@dylan teaster actually rosehairs tend to be aggressive....they are usually moody. Pinktoes are a much better choice.

Hi mate, I have watched so many of your tarantula videos & I absolutely love them. I was very sorry for your losses though. You are very dedicated & it's really nice to see, very interesting & helpful! I have a few tarantulas as well, I have a problem though & I would really appreciate your help.. My male OBT molted, but he wont let me get the molt out, I have been very careful not to disturb his webbing too much but he is defending the molt & rearing up at me... Any suggestions?
They are venomous, if you eat one you'll be fine though. If they bite you you won't die unless your allergic but, depending on the species, you can become ill.

if you ripped the fangs out how will it eat? The tarantula might die from taking its fangs out but will for sure die from not being able to eat.
i bought a rose hair 2 months ago..it has like a weird stain thing on her abdomen, when i pet it there, some of the stain came off..like a dry skin, and it was sticky..what was it? is she sick?
i had a t when i was like 12. it was brown. my dad got it for me without the consent of my mom lol:) i had it for a bout 1 nd a half yrs. intill it passed away. i would hold it and just let it walk around. i had a nice tank that my neighbor customozed. . was 1.5 yrs a good periond of time to own one it being my first time?
