  • I live in Tijuana, Mexico and I have never seen this kind of spider, the only deadly spider that I know is the black widow and its very common in this region, but some weeks ago after a rainy day, right in front of the door of my house I found a relatively big black shiny spider and it was apparently dead, so i was going to crush it when my wife came out with a bottle to keep the spider, then when i watched it from close, i did not recognized its type until i searched in the web, and horrible was my surprise when i did found out that i was holding a fckng dying male Australian funnel web spider between my hands. I still have it in the bottle and of course it is dead. There is one only question that i have.... How the heck did the spider to get on front of my house???
  • Kill it, kill it with fire
  • moving from uk to australia is from the uk a place of zero dangerous spiders to the land of all time classics venomous spiders and most impressive as well...good luck and enjoy your stay...be calm be informed and check your garden for redbacks, atrax could be but redbacks is common ...in other words get used to mother land of spiders
  • australia is the land of all kinds... from the most colorful spider in the world that dances like MJ- maratus volans to the giant webs of nephila, to the giants mygalomorphs and theraposids or huntsmen and to the notorious redback of your garden (very common ...big deal in my perspective) and the most venomous in the world Atrax robustus - the so called Sidney funnel web , or Handronych - Tree dwellers - Atrax formidabilis a real agressive on defense - never mess up for nothing unless careful what to do with atrax....
  • I know these are mean and have horribly potent venom, but they're just so pretty and I want one.

  • you can see the droplets of venom coming out of its fangs when its in the attack position....
  • But still she was there, who was there before Sauron, and before the first stone of Barad-dûr; and she served none but herself, drinking the blood of Elves and Men, bloated and grown fat with endless brooding on her feasts, weaving webs of shadow; for all living things were her food, and her vomit darkness

  • I wish that spider would kill that bird.
  • Firstly, one would question how they got over there and secondly, they prefer cool damp dark places such as under rocks, the innards of rotten logs or inside old shoes.
  • Life span is more than eight years.
  • i bet that spider makes an AWESOME crunch noise....
  • Glad I'm on the other side of the world...far from these ugly fuckers.

  • @Shadowblood66 Shelob the spider in the lord ofthe ring is a living spider and is actually the funnel web of new zeland the black tunnelweb spider, Porrhothele antipodiana (wiki). This spider is not a threat but can give a nasty bite - Bites are painful and may cause localised swelling, itching, or numbness. Victims are advised to disinfect the area to reduce the risk of infection. The venom is not dangerous to humans (wiki)
  • Death

  • Shoot it...
  • I breed them and have 66 of them.
  • fuck this...my toes curl up every time i see these damn things
  • I prescribe a good dose (or should that be "douse") of boiling water
  • one blow torch, one spider
  • Those spiders sound like birds.
  • GET A SHOTGUN AND BOOOOM!!!!!!
  • Welcome to Australia, now what would you like engraved on your tombstone?
  • Fangs. Are. Dripping.
  • These things can be mean bastards if you stir them up but it's highly unlikely that you'll ever encounter one. In most Australian cities there's things far more dangerous than Spiders (angry hobos, muggers, clueless drivers, assaults in less-than-desirable areas etc.). Minding your own business is one way of avoiding trouble. Nuff said.
  • @youmakemelaugh99 after the brazilian wandering spider
