Why do people in America have such a qualm about the eating habits in China ??? The Chinese have been eating dogs for THOUSANDS of years before even the United States has ever even EXISTED. We (Americans) should not point the the finger to China for their diet. It is really non of our business.

I don't 100% agree with how they treat their dogs before feasting on them and I don't agree with much of why they would feast on them to begin with but... Some would say it's their culture which if it's the case I can't really say much. I'm open minded to idea of trying new things when ever I'm in different places but the idea of eating dog is still... Weird in my mind but than again everything we do as humans to many other cultures is "Weird" so... I may get a lot of hate for saying this but given the choice and to try one's culture-induced dish for once I may give it a go as disgusting as the idea is.Another thing I want to say is why do people have to continue bashing them just for dogs look at the cats who eat's cats while were at it? So in short I am 50/50 on the idea that it is wrong to eat Dog but at the same time it "may" be something of their culture that makes them do this which in that case I can't say anything about it and "may" give it a go.

I dont understand the hate. Whats the difference between dog and cow? I own a pet dog but have no problem with Chinese eating dog because thats their culture. We Americans eat cow, chicken, duck etc. so to be honest none of you can criticize since it would be hypocrisy, get off your high horses.

There are many reasons why eating pigs and cows are much better than eating dogs and cats, for example better meat quality and also cows and pigs have been around humans as food for millenia and the human body has adapted to its consumption very well and it tastes great. Further humans have all sorts of animals to their disposal as food staples already and they must stick to them, for they can't eat everything. Humans cannot and should not be allowed to eat everything, its not for them (or the natural world would be destroyed). Most of the Chinese are greedy and foolish in that they eat everything. And just look at the cruel and terrible ways they treat the dogs! It's one thing to kill and eat the animal, and another thing to abuse them before killing them. The dogs and cats are robbed of their dignity. How disgusting, the Chinese should be ashamed. They're probably doing it to anger the Western countries.

I grew up in Beijing for like 17 years and then I moved to canada with my family. As a minor ethinical group in China, my specific race got like taboos for eating animals. I think most people living in the major metropolitan cities in China did not prefer eating dog and cats cuz they tend to acceptn the liberal， postmodern ideologies from the western world(I was bapitized in 2013).

This is sick . Eating animals is the natural order of life , but to have no compassion nor respect for animals and treating them this way is unacceptable . don't care if it's a cow or whatever . But dogs are considered a mans best friend in my culture, so this documentary really makes me sick .

First I 'd like to declare that I personally not a dog eater, but I don't oppose to eat it. Now Let me give all you some fact and comment about this issue:1. Less 1% of Chinese eat dogs. You can seldom find dog meat in most of cities in China. 2. Some areas may have dog eating traditions, we respect their diet freedom as long as they don't violate any law.3. Some individuals may eat dogs, it is their freedom as long as it doesn't violate any law.4. Human beings are the most valuable life on earth and must be protected. Any violation, attack on individuals must be not allowed. 5. All forms of creature, including plants, animals, fungi, bacteria, virus, etc. are life. You should not discriminate them based on your own observation and judgement. You cannot say animals with emotion should be protected, and those without emotion can be killed. Life is LIFE, that is enough. 6. Endangered animals must be protected. Those who eat or harm endangered animals must be punished. 7. All those not endangered animals can be theoretically put on menu. You have freedom to choose, of course avoid poisonous food and don't commit crime to obtain your food. 8. You care about dogs, you should only care about your OWN dog. You are not allowed to deprive others freedom of choosing legal food. It is SELFISH, not kind. 9. Vegans are never qualified to blame meat-eaters, it's your choice to be a vegan. Being a vegan doesn't make you holy. 10. We blame all forms of crimes, including those who stealing dogs, killing and abuse of animals without any reason. These could be often hard to define. Debate may be frequently brought up from this term. 11. Don't judge a country or a place by viewing an individual video or from some media. If you really want to know, learn a language, live in the country and observe by yourself for at least three years. Otherwise, shut up.
