  • Holy shit, do tarantulas really glow like that when they molt ? That's pretty impressive
  • Those little white insects are springtails, not mites!
  • I keep going back to this video, something about Tarantulas molting is somewhat hypnotic. What's the name of the song?

  • They are spring tails.
  • are you sure those are mites? i know this clip was a timelapse to speed up the process. but even sped up by this speed, mites are much slower. these critters are too long & too fast. mites are globular in shape. they take forever to move & they usually dont spread out all over. normally they travel in pack, literally, like ants. also, they usually travel in one direction. they dont move back & forth in multiple directions.this is how i remember observing them in my tanks.
  • Great to see he is molting on his belly but damn the mites are absolutly not good. My god they can kill your spider!!!! Didn't anyone tell you?
  • I love tarantulas fangs when they are molting they look soo awesome.
  • That person lets mites bother her T during a molt? That is terrible, they are stressed out enough!!
  • maybe Vermiculite will be better, zero mites and other little bastards ;)
  • mites = no good
  • Not good at all! It is however amazing how they hide and you think its only 1 or 2 but watching the video of 5 hours you see how many are actually there! Tarantula was moved into a new home :)
