  • I have 2 slings right now and I feed twice a week, on a Monday and on a Friday, is that ok?
  • I have a B. Smith I sling that I've had for about a year. It has not grown and it won't eat. I'm worried that it's going to die. I've not seen it molt either. I had a curly hair sling that I purchased at the same time and it not only ate but it molted and grew. What am I doing wrong?
  • Is power feeding okay for Ts? And how do you power feed? Coz I'm not sure if I'm doing that or not. I have 1' aurutm and 1i horned baboon.. just got both last week. Thanks in advance! :)

  • Hey man. I really really appreciate your video. I don't have a tarantula however, I have a Huntsman spider as a pet. And I wonder why it doesn't really eat since I got him. Any thoughts on this? I tried to serve him live roaches and super worms but still no. Any thoughts on this? Any advice or tip (even specie wise) would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
  • This has been very helpful to me as a new owner of my first T, as all of your videos are, thanks! Losing a leg won't make it stop eating will it? Also, when will a missing leg grow back? We had a mishap with the lid with my Aviv. Avicularia. How many molts will it take to come all of the way back? Maybe you could do a video on that subject. Maybe you have. I feel sooo terrible about his/her lil' pink toe! I cried.
  • Hii i just want to ask... My Brachypelma smithi is about 1.5inch and he/she wont eat i dont know what is the problem. The prey is just too small and he/she wont eat its like about 3 days what am i gonna do?

  • Howmoften do you feed your slings & juries and adults . So u normally feed them once a month or little bit more frequent?
  • Never mind it's a male
  • How long did it take your Chinese fawn to complete its beautiful webbing?
  • Yes, you are right in them all being very different. Thank you for a quick reply. Keep up the good work!
  • Thanks :)
  • You can. However it's not easy to tell which Avicularia species you have since in the wild, They tend to cross-breed and pet stores usually gets these wild caught specimens. Show me on email
  • I gutload them anyways, they will die wihout food
  • tnx for the info....my fireleg's is already dead..didnt eat for more than 7 months....:)
  • I've never seen males get more than 5''.
  • My B. boehmei had fasted from Nov '10 to May '11. Molted out fine. Abdomen was plump the entire time. Same thing has occured with my B. emilia, except that it is currently in premolt now. I feed twice a month, and every T gets two crickets per feeding. So 4 crickets a month and they are quite plump. Could they thrive on 2 crickets a month ? Given they have such slow metabolism and keeping them at 72F year round, I wouldn't be surprised if they could. It's all a waiting game with these :)
  • my new scorpion is the most weird feeder ever, he just doesn't like eating i think it took him like 3 months to start digging though so maybe he's just now getting comfy in his environment
  • you should start a dubia roach colony
  • Also i just want to say , if you are putting crickets that are to big for the t's to overpower and eat, the t's can actually end up being eaten by the cricket or at the very least damaged , my friend left 2 dozen crickets in his scorpions cage (i know, i dunno what he was thinking, prolly to cheap to buy a feeder cage for them) and they killed his scorpion and T's prolly have less armor on them :(
  • I can't its illegal here to buy/sell B.dubia roaches. Canada banned them because they see them as an invasive species
  • That's some helpfull information thanks jon
  • Ok thanks....so im guessing its 8
  • True, but it was never mentioned that the exo was made up of calcium. Yes it is composed of proteins, but is primarily made up of chitin . Since Ts cannot control or metabolize calcium levels as we do... Chitin receive calcium in the form in calcium carbonate and this promotes strength and hardening of the exo which does lead to molting problems if mice becomes the T's staple diet. Yes Ts don't eat the bones (where most Calcium is stored) but there is still some left as well as fat
  • I have 118 Ts
  • Helps a lot
  • I know that :P I just noticed that you said you lost count. I can't believe you can remember the stuff you do without some kind of record.
  • Bob, like I said in the video...there is no real way to get Ts to eat if they're not hungry. If I knew one, I would have mentioned in it in the video. You can certainly try a variety of food items. It certainly can be possible that your smithi is picky. However, as I mentioned Ts will fast at some point in time...even B.smithi and the hungriest A.geniculata
  • same conditions as I said in the premolt video...The only difference you will NOT see is the bald spot as old world cannot flick hair
